New In: Fancy Shoes

Hey there! Thank you and welcome, to my new followers; expressionistas! :)
During the past two weeks, I was able to purchase five pair of shoes. I didn't plan to do so, but I'm glad I was able to purchase these pretty shoes at awesome prices! Can you guess were I purchased these shoes from? If you guessed Target, then you're right! :)
Target has been having sales for some weeks now, but it got intense (haha) last week. Clothing items and shoes are on sale for up to 70% off the original price. Being that Target is a walking distance (15-20 minutes) from my apartment, I go there regularly.
Check out the shoes I purchased below:
Red (orange undertone) Pumps w/Gold Cap toe
Style: Viveca
Original Price: $32.99
Sale Price: $9.88

Guest Post: Foundation Routine & Finding One For Your Skintone

Happy Monday, Expressionistas! I hope you're all having a great start to your Monday  morning. On my way back home from running some errands (with my sister) yesterday, it began to snow a bit. On walking out this morning, it looked like a Winter Wonderland! :)
Today's guest post is brought to you by the lovely Sade of In My Sunday Best. I know most ladies (if not all) like some sort of makeup. We do have to admit that, sometimes it's difficult to find the right shade of foundation or blush for your skintone. That's where Sade comes in to rescue us. Today, she'll be expanding your knowledge today about makeup and finding the right shade for you.
Read more from Sade below:
Finding a foundation really is the coloured girls burden isn’t it? I rember my teen years when I’d wear foundation shades 3x too light for me because I found it impossible to find a suitable shade.
You go to your local drugstore and there are only ever 3 or 4 pathetic attempts at offering a more ‘ethnic’ colour wheel, but there are 20 odd foundations in more or less the same shade of beige. Very annoying isn’t it.
Many of us have gone down the high end makeup route as they offer more of a colour spectrum for us, brands like MAC, NARS, Urban Decay, YSL and Chanel. Unfortunately for those of us who are students, these brands aren’t always wallet friendly.
There are a few high street brands that have heard our cries such as Maybelline, Sleek and Revlon, I’m particularly fond of sleek because they have such a wide selection and they offer very affordable high quality products.
A flawless base is always the key to a natural foundation application; if you have skin with large open pores a good primer will fill in the holes and give you a smoother base to lay your makeup ontoIn terms of brushes, I used an ELF foundation brush. It’s cheap, cheerful and does the job.
Some of you will find that you don’t actually need a full coverage foundation and a good concealer will work wonders on you. I rarely use foundation anymore and stick to concealer, as an Architecture student I am riddled with dark circles which make me look panda-like. To erase them, I use a peach toned concealer.

Blue Me Away

Hey you.

In the look below, I styled the snake print skinny pants (from Target) a different way. Ever since the first time I wore it, I couldn't wait to wear it again. The blue sweater is also from Target. I decided to get a XL size because I wanted a slouchy, comfy look, though I did have to shrink it in the dryer.

Daytime Sequin

Happy Wednesday. I hope your week started out well!

Spring semester is now in session, meaning I'm back in school after 3 weeks of break. Funny thing: I'm quite excited for school to begin, but I know that the feeling might go away after this week. Haha :)

I was inspired by a look I saw in a magazine. I liked the look, and decided to share my spin on it.

Guest Post: Survival Kit for Life

Happy Monday everyone. I hope your week was splendid! :)

Today's guest post is brought to you by Jasmine Marie of TheJourn3y. She's been such an inspiration to me and I'm so glad  that, MyStyledExpressions' first guest post of the year/month is from her. Jasmine is very full of wisdom and knowledge. One of her love and purpose is to encourage young girls and women. Please enjoy what she has to say below:

Hello MyStyledExpressions readers!

Welcome to a world where dreams become reality and exercising your faith is an everyday practice. A survival kit is a necessity for life. The most important item will be your relationship with the Creator. You cannot survive without a life line.

Affirmation: With God all things are possible.
Next, you will need Faith. Faith will be your guide when you entrust your plans to the Lord. Do not give fear room to grow.

Affirmation: My faith is bigger than my fear.
Eleanor Roosevelt says it best, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” The next item is belief. Believe that your dreams will become your reality. Success does not happen overnight. It is the end result of dedication, commitment, a strong work ethic, resilience, prayer and support. You have to be your biggest supporter, encourager and motivator!

2012 Outfits Recap

Happy New Year! I wish you great success in all you lay your hands on this year. I pray that God leads you in all you do. Please make sure to put God first. Seek Him in all you do.

I know I'm sorta late, but below is a recap of some of my outfits from 2012. I started this blog on February 13, 2012. My blog will be a year old in less than 2 months. Wow! :)

Like I mentioned on Instagram, I hope to incorporate more colors and prints into my style in 2013! Great and marvelous things are in-store for me this year!

I spent my New Year Eve/New Year morning in church! What about you? :)

Take care! :)
